Description
Ivor came to the shelter as a tiny pup, he was put in a sealed box in the bins. Ivor couldn’t walk, he had a badly disfigured body and was in a lot of pain.
When he was x rayed it revealed that his bones had not formed properly, they were more like cartilage. He had nutritional hypothyroidism we can only guess that his mother was in such a poor state that her milk wasn’t nutritional enough to feed him.
It took Ivor a few weeks of a good diet and vitamins before he gained enough strength to be able to walk. He has gone from strength to strength and grown into a very strong, confident dog. Ivar is extremely intelligent and active and needs lots of stimulation.
Ivar can be a little unpredictable with new people and certainly couldn’t go to an inexperienced home. Ivor has been adopted three times and returned. He is hard work and needs someone with a lot of time and patience. He is now four years old, perfect bill of health and gets along well with other animals. Ivor would likely make an ideal working dog in a field such as search and rescue.
