Description
Chispa is around 9 years old and arrived at the pound in April 2026, after being surrendered by her owner because she was no longer useful for hunting. She used to be "useful"... and when she stopped being so, she was simply discarded.
It's hard not to feel sad for her. Chispa is scared and confused, trying to understand what has happened and why everything she knew has suddenly disappeared. It's still very early, and we're only just beginning to get to know her.
She currently lives in a very small cage. Sadly, this kind of confinement may not be entirely new to her, as many hunting dogs in Spain live in similar conditions. Even so, no dog should live like this—not then, not now.
For the moment, Chispa is quiet, insecure, and observing everything at her own pace. But beneath that fear, there is a dog who still deserves kindness, patience, and the chance to feel safe again.
We truly hope we can help her discover a different life—a life where she isn't valued for what she "uses," but loved simply for who she is. A soft bed, gentle hands, and a quiet place to rest would mean the world to her right now.
Chispa deserves a future filled with peace, dignity, and love. A life where she is finally seen as more than just a hunting dog… but as a soul that deserves to be loved.
